Binance now supports FIDO2 open authentication. This means that any 2FA devices that support this standard , and others, can be used as security keys for your Binance accounts.
This feature was announced Today on Binance’s Blog as an effort to secure it’s clients account after the recent successful hack attack on Binanace that caused a loss of around 7,000 Bitcoins worth about $40 million via a single transaction.
FIDO (Fast ID Online) is a set of technology-agnostic security specifications for strong authentication. FIDO is developed by the FIDO Alliance, a non-profit organization that seeks to standardize authentication at the client and protocol layers.
